Etc. Spaghetti Brain!

Tomorrow is our last day for the Computer and Science Teaching class. Happy to be bringing home a brand new desktop computer free from the course!

The promise I made to myself about not using Facebook anymore didn't push through. Oh my! talk about computer and Facebook addiction!!!

School starts in two weeks, I can't believe summer is almost over!

I had a blast this summer though, started a lot of new things, learned a lot too!

Next week. I know I have to set new goals for this SY 2012-2013, replace activities with some activities and add some to my bucket and wish list.

I'll continue with my 365 day project. I have a lot of backlogs!!! I have to make up for all that too, maybe, hopefully, next week.

As for right now, I've nothing to do. Bored to do anything. Well, it's 10:30 sleeping time already, so I guess, I'll call it a night.

Sweet dreams!

No FB this week!

This coming week will be another busy week for us.

I won't be spending much time on Facebook and networking but will still be checking emails and maybe blogging. This week I would like to spend my extra time not on computers but on books.

My plan is to read the book Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams. This is a book I bought a long time ago, but never really had  the time to read it seriously. So I guess, it is about time!

credit

So at the end of this week, I will have at most 14 blog posts overdue or maybe written - still not sure! Oh my! Unless, an inspiration will spark out of reading the book -I will just write away! Lol!

It's all computers for me. My life revolves around this machine. As if something's missing if I don't open one. This has got to change! At least this week!

The funny thing is we will be taking Computer and Science Teaching this week, and we are supposed to assemble a desktop computer! - Still computers! Lol!

Well, it's been decided, at least this week, no Facebook and networking. I will focus on things that also matter.

1) Teach Kiddos!
2) Movie Nights with Dennis.
3) Read Books.
4) Meditation and Spiritual Time.
5) Writing Time.

So there goes my plan this week.

PLUS! PLUS!- sleeping at exactly 10:30pm!
OK.. maybe 1 hour a day of Facebook? Lol!

Keeping my fingers crossed!

NAMASTE.

A must-do!

Alright! I've been out for 10 days and I am missing 10 blogs.

Somebody asked me one time, how I do it? I seemed to never run out of things to write about!

Maybe because there are just a lot of things that I want to say, Lol! But more on I just needed to write whatever it is that is bugging my mind so I can sleep.

Writing is my outlet. It is a must-do for me so I can move on.

Here are some topics I am thinking I could write about in 2 days to compensate for my missing 10 blogs.

1. What I ate during the camping trip. No rice at all! http://www.pinoyteacherstories.com/2012/07/no-rice-diet.html
2. Coal Mining Industry? Conservation of Energy? The reality of electricity, environment and global warming?
5. Odd One Out!
6. Camping Dos and Don'ts.
7. First time experiences.
8. Coping with strangers.
9. Stars at Night.

Oh my!

I am doomed! I am not really sure if these are the things that I want to write about! But I'll get by somehow. :) Lol!

On Technology and Cost Efficiency

Here's the top 3 online services to help your business needs! Check it out!

Technology and Cost-Efficiency – The Dynamic Duo Your Business Needs

The key to keeping a business intact, running smoothly and generating the expected financial results is twofold – technology and cost-efficiency. The right technology is sure to fire up a business, but without cost-efficiency, the business is like a plane running on a single engine. It can keep running for a time, but it will have to perform an emergency landing eventually. On that note, here are three online services to consider when finding that technology and cost-efficiency balance:

Because of intense competition among low-cost carriers in the airline industry, looking for the best and cheapest airfare deals has become a little too complicated, forcing deal hunters to go from one airline site to another to single out the deal that fits into his travel and budget needs. This is because airlines no longer pitch their promotional offers to price-comparison sites. Instead, they encourage their consumers to visit their corporate websites and/or partner sites, which can be time-consuming, to say the least.

JetRadar.com, a meta search engine, is a one-stop online address that aggregates cheap airfare data from 728 individual airline websites and hundreds of ticket and flight sites, significantly reducing the time and energy it would normally take an individual to find the cheapest airfare deals he's on the lookout for. These deals are available to a consumer only if purchased from an airline's own corporate site. JetRadar also provides listings for hotels.

Finding the most relevant name for a business or a domain for a website may be an exercise in futility if most of the good ones have already been taken. With a marketplace offering almost the same products and services and an online world that's teeming with millions and millions of .com and .net addresses, you most definitely have the knack for naming if you come up with something that instantly clicks and holds promise on your own. But what if you're not one in a million, just a regular unlucky dude who has already spent nights and nights without sleep for that one elusive name or domain that you know will catapult your brand to success? Branding agencies can do magic, but they can burn a hole in your pocket as well.

PickyDomains.com is an online naming service that taps into a crowdsourcing pool of 50,000+ registered contributors from around the world to come up with names, domains and slogans that are catchy, unique, relevant and easy-to-remember, qualities that are sure to differentiate a brand in an otherwise saturated marketplace. To receive suggestions from this diverse team of people, simply register with the site, pay $50 for a domain or name (or $75 if it's a slogan you need) and list down your naming specifications. If no suggestion fits into your criteria, you can ask for your money back, making the service risk-free.

It has been said time and time again, efficiency is key to longevity. This is why most businesses nowadays employ the use of productivity tools to streamline their processes, provide accurate data whenever they're needed and lighten the load on their workforce. Oftentimes, however, these tools are too costly for a small business owner to even think about.

Bitrix24.com is an enterprise collaboration and communications tool that is absolutely free for small businesses with 12 employees or less. Bitrix24 is your all-in-one workspace combining disparate tools such as free CRM, free activity planner, free workforce management, free file sharing, free real-time viewing and many other awesome features. Also, the application is cloud-based, meaning, there is no need for installation and can be accessed anywhere via a browser or a smartphone, allowing you to take your virtual workstation anywhere you please. An upgrade to unlimited users costs $99 per month.

Dennis and Gardening

I admire Dennis, my husband. Well, because of the photos in Facebook, I am sure you already know how skillful he is! He's totally my opposite!

What amazes me too is how he can plant something, anything, and it will grow. I also do the opposite! Lol!

Maybe, there are really people who has "green thumb" and others who has not. (what do you think? lol)

You see, he dreams of having his own farm lot someday, well, maybe our backyard (hehe), where he’ll grow herbs, flowering plants, trees!

Back in New Orleans where we stayed for 4 years he planted chayote, melons, and other vegetables – and I was informed that up to now, it is still alive and producing!

Here in New Mexico, he tried growing vegetables too, but with the heat of summer and since we are staying in an apartment, he is limited as to what he can do.

Maybe someday, he’ll make his dream come true. For the meantime, while browsing the net about gardening, I have found this website The Growers Exchange – where gardeners go to grow!

They grow farm fresh herb plants and more!

Their farm is located on 600 acres in Virginia, along the banks of the James River, America's founding river.

They grow their herb plants using healthy practices; they ship their plants in finest quality and have built an entire collection of custom designed herb garden kits and herb garden gifts that you won't find anywhere else. They also offer innovative and attractive gardening accessories and gifts!

Happy to note how the universe would just make one's dream a reality, via people who has been there, did it and succeeded!

Dennis will continue to grow plants and dream on having his farm.. and who knows it would be as big as the one in Virginia!

Happy times!

NAMASTE.

Teaching. Kids. Me.

Honestly, I do not know how to teach young kids. Shame huh, but that’s the truth, I can teach older kids, high school students, college students, even graduate students. But not little kids!

Maybe, I just don’t have the patience and the skills to teach them!

There was this one time when I really wanted to teach again. Since there was an opening at a grade 1 level, I tried my luck and applied for the position. The thing was, I have no elementary education background but using all the positive energy in me, I tried my best.

I did, really! I stood up in front of the room, with the roomful of bright eyed kids. I started my lesson, and tried to make them follow what the lesson was about. I didn’t know what to expect! I’ve never seen Grade 1 kids in action (I forgot how we were in Grade 1 too!). My! My sweat was just all over! There were staring at me, and just doing that! Maybe they were asking themselves, if I was a real teacher or what! Lol!

Even if my credentials were exceptional haha, they didn’t hire me! I wouldn’t hire me too for sure! Lol!

The bottom line is each one of us has our own specialties!

Thus, the next best thing for me to do, especially in helping my very own kids with their studies is to use technology!

I am grateful because there are websites such as www.SchoolTutoring.com that specializes in teaching young learners! They offer programs in reading, writing, math and science using successful strategies!

They have the expertise to help little kids with academic needs.

They have interactive lessons to keep kids engaged!

They personalize the programs to suit each child’s needs.

Parents also receive regular, detailed reports on their child’s progress and be involved in their child’s progress.

Follow this link for great resources and information and let your kids take the first step towards success this school year!
