There's a purpose indeed!

Remember this issue?

About the post-dated checks that had ALL been deposited on the same day? see post here.

Well, I did say I won't rest my case. I didn't stop. I just have to let them hear my voice!

And today, I got the results! They returned the money!!!

After consulting with trusted friends, I sent a letter to the CEO of the company. I guess, he forwarded the letter to one of his directors to take action, and he did!

A matter of targeting the right person, pushing for what is just and letting God and time do its course.

I thank God for positive results!

I learned my lesson. I rest my case.

NAMASTE.

Freeing my mind - Part 1

Thanks to Marc and Angel Hack Life for the questions. Here are my answers:
  1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
I’d be 28 years old! Lol.
  1. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying, of course! At least if I failed, I learned my lesson.
  1. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
Maybe because we feel it isn’t real, that life isn’t really short – and then we die. Lol
  1. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
I’d rather have done more than I’ve said.
  1. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
I’d love to maneuver people’s thinking into positive, good and heavenly.
  1. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I’d love to be in Training and Development.
  1. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
I believe I’m doing what I love to do, and someday, I’ll be doing what I believe I should have done long time ago.
  1. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
OMG, I’ll be 40 next year! How would I live my life differently? Good question. If have all the financial capabilities, paid off house and car, money for high school and college education of kids, constant flow of cash, resources and income, I’d go back to the Philippines and spend the rest of my life there. Join an organization and lead training and development focusing on soft skills, travel the world, help organizations fulfill their missions and celebrate life with family!
  1. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
100%, my life is my doing, with 100% God’s intervention.
  1. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Not worried at both counts.
  1. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do?
Defend her, or make them stop, or let them see the responsible side of things.
  1. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be not afraid.
  1. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yes, if it means life and death.
  1. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
Yes, my husband’s ideas. Lol!
  1. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Control my thoughts and laugh out loud!
  1. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
All I know is that we are all unique and gifted differently.
  1. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  What’s holding you back?
My financial status.
  1. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Maybe.

Dreaming dreams!

So, now that I’m done with my 365 days project, what’s next?
Great question!
Answer: Nothing.

I’ll enjoy my Winter break! I’ll sleep, watch movies, eat! Lol!

A better finance would mean traveling to the East coast to spend a week of vacation there! We haven’t been to those states yet. I’d love to see New York, Massachusetts, Maryland! Sleep at hotels again, eat out, take lotsssa pictures!, drive, drive, drive and enjoy the sceneries!

Permanent papers would mean traveling back to my homeland, Philippines, for a month of vacation! I’d love to be with my family, relatives and friends and enjoy their presence! I’d love to eat all the foods I missed, shop at the malls, have a massage 3x a week!, watch Filipino movies, ride a jeepney, walk around our subdivision!

A better finance and permanent papers would mean a cruise to Alaska, Carribean, Bahamas and Bermuda!

An out-of-the-box adventure would be to travel with the whole family to Europe!!!

Whoa! I am dreaming!

It’s nice to dream huh? It makes our mind wild, it triggers something inside us to act on it, it makes us look forward to achieving it!

This Christmas, let’s forget not to dream.

Let’s also try to go beyond our own little boxes and do something wild! As wild as running around your house for a change, donating clothes, books or toys to the needy, or driving to a see nature’s beauty!

We have a day and a week more before our Winter break! I can’t wait to do make overs, dream, plan, organize… but you know what?

The best that we can do for ourselves is to really do make-overs from the inside.

If we start from the inside, our outside will be more beautiful, warm and happy!

Hope you'll do the same!

"It can't be done!"

I’ve never seen Arnold Schwarzenegger  in another light but now…. I know he’s a good actor – Commando,  Terminator, Conan; but I have not really followed his career… oh yes, he served as a Governor of California too, right? Wow! Ok, let's just focus on the good side. Lol.

I’ve also learned that he was an immigrant from Austria, his whole life he said he wanted to come to America; he believed and still does, that America is the land of opportunity and that the possibilities here are endless.

I was really impressed when he delivered a speech during the 2010 Emory University Commencement Exercise.

He talked about visualizing your dreams and knowing what you want to accomplish and what you want to do.

He didn’t listen to all people who were saying “no” to him, who were telling him “it can’t be done”! He worked and studied very hard until things began for him.

“Anything and everything can be done if we will only visualize it and if we believe in ourselves!”

“Be hungry for more and learn new things!”

Arnold reminded us to, “Tear down that mirror. Tear down that mirror that makes you always look at yourself, and you will be able to look beyond that mirror and you will see the millions of people that need your help.”

He said “You’re going to find naysayers in every turn that you make. Don’t listen. Just visualize your goal, know exactly where you want to go. Trust yourself. Get out there and work like hell. Break some of the rules and never ever be afraid of failure.”  - Arnold Schwarzenegger

It can't be done? Nahhh

Happy one year My Dailies!!!

The 365 days project ended today!!!

Here's an excerpt from my 365 days project post last December 12, 2011.

I've always wanted to write everyday...
One day at a time... one story at a time.. for 365 days.
I hope that you'd join me as I write my her heart out...
Stories of my life. Stories to share. Stories to learn about. stories to read.
Positive that as I uncover mysteries of life in its simplicity and beauty, YOU will also be able to relate, find common things, learn, unlearn, undo, redo, own, justify, correct, metamorphose, change… life as it is.
Well, it’s December 12, 2012!!!! Happy 1st year anniversary to My Dailies!!!

Yay!!!

Unfortunately,  my 365 days project is 50 posts short! Lol! But…

I am still celebrating!!!!

Imagine I did 315 posts in one year! Finished 2 subjects in my Masters and had a total of 80,000 views in both My Dailies and Pinoy Teacher’s Stories!

Happiness!

Grateful for you all for joining me in this journey!

I thank God for the lessons learned, beautiful memories and opportunities and friends made along the way!

It’s a beautiful year! Life continues...

God bless us all!

My bucket list.

I have written my bucket list then, but since it was only written in paper and pencil, I am not sure where it is anymore. So, here I am creating another one, hoping that before I God says my time is up, I’ll be able achieve.

Steve's speech

Steven Paul “Steve” Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American entrepreneur. He was the  co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. He also co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, when Disney acquired Pixar.

In this speech, he shared 3 stories of his life. Let’s all learn from him.

Connect the dots.

“We can only connect the dots when we look backwards. So trust. you can't connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something--your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever--because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference.”

Learn from Love and Loss.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Death happens.

“Remembering you’re going to die, is the best way I know, to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” – Steve Jobs

His ending words:
Stay  hungry and foolish.

-day 313

Making the impossible happen.

I'm sure you're also like me.. who would like to believe that all things are possible and there is no such thing as impossible!

See impossible, really is saying, I’m possible!

YES, sometimes, fear and anxiety grips us!

But here's the bottom line.

1. Keep our faith and belief!
2. Be patient!!!
3. Thank God already!

Whatever our heart's desires are, it will all come true!

I believe it is all God. God has actually placed that desire in our hearts and I am sure, in His own time, He will also make it happen.

Whatever it takes, if we know in our hearts that it belongs to us, then it will come to pass.

Either that or believe in all the negative things, believe in the impossibility of your dreams, focus on what you cannot do and will not happen ever! Put all your energy on why you deserve all the bad things.. and surely it will be done.

No path best to choose but the later.

Let’s continue to be believers of good things.

NAMASTE.

-day 312

For the love of eating!

For breakfast, I’ve learned to love cereals! For lunch, fajitas, tacos or burritos. For dinner, I cook!

This time, it is still automatic, when I open the refrigerator, it’d be adobo, spaghetti or veggie mix!
That’s an improvement right?

Though, I’d still live with just corned beef and sardines!

I guess, it will take time for me to internalize cooking and being creative with it.
I’ve become a master of baking though, Lol! My specialties: pandesal, brownies, cassava cake or bibingka, nice, huh?

For the love of feeding my children healthy food, I promise to experiment and make use of the recipes I’ve collected online and/or finally use the recipe books I bought for a long time! Lol!

I am sure, my husband will be pleased!

Effort, effort, effort!!!!

NAMASTE.

-day 311

On shopping and spending

If there is one stress-buster for me, it is shopping online or in stores, scavenging for bargains and good deals. I love just roaming around the mall looking for on sale but nice items!

My husband may not understand this, and you know what, he doesn’t even need to, Lol!

As for right now, I am a fan of Body Shop, Body and Bath, Old Navy and Gap.

Since there isn’t much shopping stores here in Gallup, but JC Penny, Cato and Bealls, I am also stuck at what they could offer.

Driving two hours to Albuquerque or Farmington though,  I also love Sears, Target and of course, Ross.

I love to shop, I guess, it could never be taken away from me. It’s not every day anyway, right? Just once a month, maybe? Lol!

But, ask me to join you shop anytime and for sure, I won’t say no! Let’s just make sure, my husband doesn’t know about it! Haha

-day 310

Simple Me.

I am really just a very simple person. I love to laugh. I love to keep things simple, easy and straight to the point. I’m not into a lot of drama, complications and hassles. As much as possible, I just really want to live a simple life.

Gallup, NM, really fits in the picture. I am in a state where simplicity is the capital! Lol! But really!

Kids are OK with their classmates, all parent and teacher-fearing.

I love my job. I love my co-workers and where I work.

I get to sing my heart out in the Gallup Filipino Choir.

I have good friends who love the company of each other. No putting down, no side-comments, just plain companionship.

All’s good.

I thank God for this and I pray He’ll keep it for me.

NAMASTE.

-day 309

Our dog Friend.

He was our dog, an askal (“asong kalye”), he was with us for, I am not really sure how long, but enough to have my memories of him alive.

I just like his company. But, since, I’m not really a dog person; still, I like his presence.

It was stormy one night, and since we do not keep dogs in the house, we just left him in his dog house. It was really cold, raining and windy that night, he was crying, but we can do nothing about it, he can’t be put in the house.

The next day, we found him dead. I was crying real hard, blaming my mother for not allowing him to come inside.

In time, I just accepted what happened. I think we had another dog after that, but it didn’t register as much as our old dog, Friend.

You’re a good dog, Friend. Thank you for understanding and being part of our childhood memories.

NAMASTE.

-day 308

To Gemma @ 24

I met my husband when I was 24 years old; after years of praying, begging, asking God for me to meet him, it happened. I met him, and my life was never the same again.

To Gemma at 24.

Gemma at 24, I just want you to know that God has favored you. He has called you by your name, you are His. He loves you and He wants you to be blessed and live an abundant life.

Much ado about AGE!

If there is one thing, and I am not really sure why, I still can’t embrace, is my age! You see, I just can’t believe that I once in elementary, then a high school student, a college student… now, I have 2 kids and OK, the most dreaded question, I can’t even answer correctly! Lol!

"How old are you?

White Hair!

As much as I want to hide my white hair, I can’t, I have a few at the back, I think, I don’t even know!  It doesn’t even bother me since I can’t see it! But the last month, I saw a couple of white hair in front! I dared not pull it out, fearing the more I do it, the more it’ll grow! So, I just hid it! Lol!

Wrinkles

I guess, no matter how I put what-have-you-cosmetics in my face, it’s part of growing up! Lol! So yes, I can see fine lines, some wrinkles, laugh lines; the funny thing still was the more I experiment on anti-wrinkle creams, the more I get pimples! So, yes, at my age, pimples love me!

Mind-Set

It’s all in the mind I guess, when people ask me how old I am, I’d stop and calculate, or pretend I forgot, well, sometimes, I do forget. How old am I? I’d answer differently. They believe it, it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t even matter if they believe of not! Lol! A matter of mind-setting, a matter of not minding, and minding your own age! Lol!

Truth

I will turn 40 next year!!! Wahhh, my life will begin by then!!! Yay!!! Lol!!

NAMASTE.

-day 306

Long time dream!

Funny, but there’s this one dream I would like to do. Ok, I am not sure if it will ever happen in my lifetime, but I just want it to happen anyway.

Here goes… I would like to give an inspirational speech to graduating students to where I graduated high school and college.

Big dream, huh?

What will I tell? I have not even organized my thoughts, maybe I will be perked up when I get an invitation! Lol! I guess, I have to be someone who has become somebody, before they will ask me to speak, right?

What are the chances of that happening? I don’t really know.

But, yep, that’s one of my dreams!

Maybe, I’ll include how one day, when I was panicking to write 95 blog posts, I have told the whole web world about what I want to happen someday – speak to graduating students from my alma maters!

Inspire them, ignite their thoughts and celebrate with them!

NAMASTE.

-day 305

Singing our hearts out!

One Saturday, here in Gallup, NM, we attended an anticipated mass, singing in the choir were Filipinos. They were good!

From deep within, I know I also wanted to be part of that choir.

Another part of me was saying, not to join, since if I do that, then I won’t be sitting with my husband and kids during mass – really lame reason.

Bottom line, I still opted to attend and join the group.

We are singing at 3 parishes, once every Saturday for the 2 parishes, and one Sunday for the other one.

It was fun, practicing songs for the masses was like having a mini-prayer meeting. The activity I so missed, since I was also a part of Lingkod ng Panginoon in the Philippines.

Finding my passion and sharing it with people is really fun. I hope you, too, will find your heart’s desires and share it.

NAMASTE.

-day 304

One day left!

Tomorrow I will celebrate my My Dailies’ 365-day project completion! Yay!

Unfortunately, I am 62 posts short! Wow! Huh?

My Dailies’ got 244 posts.

Pinoy Teacher Stories’ got 58 posts.

With a lot of activities that happened this year, sometimes writing one post a day could really be an effort!

I’ve learned a lot, did a lot, beautiful opportunities opened up for me this year and I am grateful!

Anyway, today, I will attempt to make 12 posts, Lol!!!! Good luck to me!!!

So, how do I write 62 blog posts in one day???

I guess, I just need to write!!! Lol!

NAMASTE.

Shopping Online!

It was Thanksgiving break and our family has decided not to go anywhere. So we stayed home, watched movies, ate and slept all we can. But, unwilling to not let Thanksgiving Sale and Black Friday discount sale pass me by, I checked the internet and did some shopping online!

It was real fun to browse and find best buy items on sale. I was really careful too with the sizes, since I’m shopping for the whole family.

So I’ve paid online and waited for the products to be shipped.

A better deodorant!

My daughter Mymy had her first menstruation at 9 years old, very young! I remember I had mine at 12 years old. As part of growing up, is the need for deodorants.

As we were looking for a good deodorant for her, we were lucky to have found Tori's (aluminum-free and paraben-free) deodorant for women that works!

Tori's Deodorant is an Aluminum-free & Paraben-free underarm deodorant for women. It is safe, since it is actually aluminum-free and paraben-free.

Our choice is the unscented one, since it is perfect for those who are sensitive to fragrances or who don't want it to clash with their perfume and yet is still effective in leaving one on smelling fresh all day long.

At Tori's they strive to create awareness on the hazards of mainstream deodorants (they contain ingredients that are in correlation with the development of Breast Cancer and Alzheimer's). They are also made in the USA and they give back 2% of profits to support Breast Cancer and Alzheimer's research.

Instead of just buying any other deodorant with harmful ingredients, we opted to go for this type of deodorant. This is healthy for us, it works, and it gives back to help others. Truly, win, win, win!
