better half's time out!

This is the first time in years, since coming here in America, that I allowed Dennis, my hubby, to take a break, mmm, it’s actually more of a time-out! Lol!

He’s in an H4 visa, what it simply means is that he can’t work, since he is my dependent.

It was a relief for me when he gave up his job as a seaman 4 years ago, because that was my dream – for our family to be together.

Good thing too, because that time our youngest was only 2 years old. Mimoi went to school at 4 years old because of the transition (we needed to move from one state to another).

I love that he is just at home, doing all housework, with no vices and just focused on us, his family.

Though Dennis made productive use of his time by creating projects for the house, sometimes, there's really nothing to do, so he’d watch movies and tele-novelas all day!

Lately, he opted to attend the early Mass, just so he’d be spared from our hustle and bustle of morning preparation to school, Lol!, I'm sure he's got other reasons! Maybe praying for me! Lol!

But, truly, one needs a break to revive, gather and renew oneself.

It also troubles me to see that I, in a big way, am accountable to his experiences. It would have been best if he is also progressing and making use of his time, energy, talent and skills to his greater good. But, the current situation is hindering him from doing that.

It’s been 4 days without him in the house, it felt empty. :(

But, kids have grown, Mimoi is 6, Mymy is 10, we all have our own agendas during our free times and with the too many activities lined up for the next week, I guess, we are doing pretty well.

As for Dennis, he’s enjoying his time in California, with his cousin’s family. Thank you Rica!

A good break, a great time-out!- without us bickering, hollering and pestering him! Lol!

Laundry will be plenty in 3 weeks, he should brace himself! Joke!

All’s good!

NAMASTE.

Accepting Changes!

Have you ever experienced being overwhelmed by too many unexpected happenings, that your mind just shuts off ?

Handcrafted Cabinets!

Dennis, my husband keeps himself busy as he taps into his own creativity and ingenuity.

He creates something out of scrap wood, and turn it into something useful!

He has done quite a number of projects already, all from raw materials.

Since it’s winter time, he's thinking of making a fireplace cabinet. While searching for ideas, we’ve found this great website called AgeeWoodworks.com

It is a family owned and operated business specializing in handcrafted fireplace cabinets, surrounds, mantels and shelves of the utmost quality and style.

Each of their wood mantels is made to order–whether it is a standard size or custom. Their mantels are offered finished or unfinished, allowing customers to paint or stain your wood to match the customer’s home's interior.

They offer offer their mantels, shelves and cabinets primed, painted or stained in a wide assortment of colors.

Agee Woodworks is known for its outstanding quality, competitive pricing and responsive customer service.

Their primary goal is to build superior products using only the finest materials.
If you need a fireplace mantel for your own home, Agee Woodworks will deliver an attractive handcrafted product that you will be happy with for years to come!

I guess, he won’t be creating a fireplace cabinet from scrap anymore, since he’s found want he wanted from this site!

To my Dennis.

-day 258

There's a purpose!

Crystal-clear discussion. Monthly payments to settle what I owe.

Out of good faith, since I've done it before already, I've sent them checks - most were post-dated. In the receipt, I've written: Warning: Please deposit on the intended dates.

Today: 3:30pm. The other party DEPOSITED ALL THE CHECKS! -including all post-dated CHECKS yesterday!!!

So instead of just 1/10th of what was supposed to be withdrawn didn't happen. They have withdrawn the whole amount!!!

Talk about flares and hair-raising voice! My goodness!!!

Common sense, if they didn't have one! Why would I send 10 separate checks??? If I have the whole amount at hand, I could have sent them just one check!

Why didn't they comply with what was agreed upon? If they were not accepting post-dated checks, they were supposed to be customer service. Service for customers!!! They could have easily called me up and told me about the situation! They could have informed me, at least, that the rules have changed last month!!! If the change happened last month!

The lead customer service representative told me they don't focus on the dates.. they don't read the dates. So, they didn't READ the warning too?!! Non-readers??!!!

.. and now all they could tell was, sorry, but I understand your situation! My! I don't need your understanding! I need for you to do something about it!

Unfortunately, the bank, just accepted the checks even if they were all post-dated! If I remember right, it's not like that in the Philippine banks!

Good thing, there's enough money for the checks en-cashed! .. what if there's no money??? then I get to pay for overdraft fees!!!!

BUT that's not the point. The point is, we communicated.

I complied. They didn't.

I won't rest my case.

NAMASTE.

What's making me occupied this Thanksgiving break?

NIKITA!!!

The main cast also includes Lyndsy Fonseca, Shane West, Aaron Stanford, Melinda Clarke and Xander Berkeley.

A must-watch TV series!

Surrender To Our Dreams!

Isn't it frustrating sometimes, when, after exerting all our efforts, praying, believing and yet our goals and dreams still won't happen?

Forever Christmas :)

I attended Tohatchi's concert practice last weekend; they have Christmas concert every year for the church.

This year, I think I'll join.

The songs they planned on singing were all beautiful!

Starting with this one...

I Write Because...

Here's my very first blog post written on October 18, 2006...
